Benny, I am a bit late watching your vlogs, so I started at the beginning and I have just got here. I think its so beautiful that your little boat was called Cantible, which is a word in italian for the first part of an aria, ' slower and more free-form to contrast with the structured and generally faster cabaletta '( the second part ) and that even though you renamed her Rambler, her original name kinda describes you Benny :) I live in Melbourne, Australia but grew up in East Anglia, the Fens around Cambridge and I really love seeing home and watching you cook. I have two cats, China Plate and Bootsie Butterburglar ( yes she steals butter ) and I also play the banjo Thankyou Emily Benny and Alan ( PS I watched Alan Rickman in 'Blow Dry' last night, I Love him too!

Emily's meal at 14:30 really looked tasty, yum yum yum! I'm going to have to try it for myself.

A bit late to the party as they say. I spent most of my childhood holidays on the canals, both on cruisers with outboards, and a narrowboat with a BMC 1500 diesel. It would be my guess that what you got wrapped round your prop at lock 1 was maybe some bitumous or tar sheeting of some kind, and the prop partially chopped it up leaving bits of tar in the water. Just a tip for the future, a few drops of washing up liquid into the water will disperse stuff like that in a jiffy. I had to do that after spilling a cup full of fuel oil into the water when refuelling a ship and the bunker overflowed. You make such a lovely couple 🥰🥰🥰

Hello from Australia where I’ve never seen a canal or a narrow boat. I’m a recent subscriber and I’ve only been watching you for a few weeks. I hope a canal boat holiday is in my future even more so after watching this episode, my favourite yet even though I’m dreadful with heights as well Emily.

That stove is the business. I love these boats. I haven't seen this type of boat here in the US. I wonder if we have them.

I would seriously advise getting better clued up on the workings of your boat and definitely get yourselves into a dry dock as it seems very much to me your prop glands are failing. If they go completely you could find yourselves submerged.

We bought our van from Rupert at Basevan in May 2023 and spent around 4-6 weeks converting her before heading out to Shetland, Orkney, NC500 and Outer Hebrides for 5 months. We kept the original insulation and we've never had an issue, couldn't recommend getting an ex-ambulance enough! Oh, and we called our van "Nelly the Nee-Naw"
